Virtual Assistant Database Backup
Setting up websites and blogs can be very cheap. However, properly managing them and getting results from them are a whole different matter. Recently this blog lost the database that runs it. It was just gone one day.
If you are a virtual assistant, it is fairly easy to learn how to do database backups. And this is just one of the many services you can offer. What about the CRM database as well? If they are using an Open Source CRM – they really need good backups happening regularly.
I am fairly technical. I had backups of the databases for this website. But even so, it turned out that the backup that was most recent was incomplete and did not work because I run too many sites. Now I am doing group backups as well as individual database backups more regularly.
Luckily, the hosting company got an older version of the database and they were able to restore most of the data. Sure, I lost a few articles, but I can live with that.
However, if I wrote on this site every day, I would have lost 200+ articles and that would have been a disaster. If you are working with clients as a virtual assistant, be sure to make backups part of your offering.
